Eric was amazing! His recommendations were perfect. My husband and I really enjoyed everything. The grilled pineapple and cheese was out of this world! Will definitely be back. I will also tell all my friends and family about this beautiful restaurant.

This was my first time at a Brazilian Steakhouse. The location is in the spot previously run as Pampas. You are able to go to the salad bar as many times as you’d like over the course of your meal. They have a card provided at your table to indicate whether you’d like the Gauchos to offer the selections from the kitchen to you or not, however it doesn’t seem like they always paid close attention this. Up until the end, this was a great experience. We ate on 3/7 Saturday for lunch getting the full experience special. As of today, prices were 35.90 for full experience and 25.90 for the lunch special. Unfortunately, at least for lunch, I cannot recommend the full experience. You are best off getting the lunch special. The options that are added in the full experience are filet mignon, ribeye, flap steak, lamb chops, chicken drumsticks, and I think beef rib. You are not missing too much or maybe it was an off day, but the filet mignon and ribeye were incredibly dry and salty. I have never had a steak so heavily salted. The majority of their options however were tasty and interestingly seasoned. The salad bar itself is definitely worth the menu salad bar price. This would not be a great place for a vegan but there did seem to be some options available. I enjoyed: Pork belly, red wine steak, spicy sirloin, pork sausage, barbecue chicken drumstick, and the grilled pineapple and grilled corn were big favorites as well. The pineapple was interestingly spiced, similar to that of spiced apple cider. It was well grilled and fairly ripe. The seasonings and marinades ranged from plainly salted/peppered to spiced from a variety of unique spices and flavorings that I have not had before on meats. The salad bar offers plenty of options to complement the more plainly seasoned meats and I strongly recommend trying out some of the salad bar options together with the meat. I did not enjoy: Filet mignon, ribeye, beef ribs, bacon wrapped chicken, chicken heart The picanha had a nice flavor but was quite dry even at medium rare. Lamb chop seemed decent, but I still don’t enjoy lamb/gamey meats. The cheese bread by the salad bar is excellent and can go fast. The crab salad and ceviche were fine as well. A big standout was the Brazilian Limeade which they make in house. I strongly recommend this one. This is likely unlike most lemonades or limeades you’ve had. It was a very creamy/milky yet refreshing drink with a great ratio of lime in my opinion (not too strong). The creme brulee which was 11.50 is a fairly large shallow plate and was a solid option. It was a satisfactory quality but not a standout to me. My partner was satisfied with this one for dessert. In the end, the major drawdowns of my experience were: 1. The premium option did not come out or at least were not offered to my table for over two hours of our time being there and even by the end, at least two options (flap steak and grilled cheese) were NEVER offered. Why would I pay for this experience if I can’t try everything? I’m assuming this is because lunch is not busy and therefore not enough demand to provide it or not enough kitchen staff to prepare their full menu. A lot of multiple repeats brought out included picanha, red wine steak, garlic parmesan pork, pork sausage, pineapple, and sirloin. Some fine options but I don’t want to keep being offered the same things only. 2. There was an error with my credit card being billed to the wrong table, which took about 15-20 minutes to resolve, however the manager tried to make it right. 3. Towards the end, business was picking up and the waitstaff/gauchos were getting somewhat overwhelmed, leading to a bit of a lack of attention. At times, The meat/options did run out before they were able to reach us or sometimes they did skip us. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant and would like to return. A strong recommendation in the Sac area for the price, especially for the lunch special. Better than many korean barbecues for a better price.

My mom booked my dad’s Surprise 50th Birthday party at Tropeiro’s on J Street! They made it so easy! Tables were set according to how we needed the seating to be (Party of 94). Had an area where we were able to set-up treats for the guests as well as photo backdrop area. Received SO MANY compliments from our guests about how it was a great party and great venue; loved the food, drinks, service and ambiance. Food - there was a little bit of everything for the pickiest eaters and A LOT of everything for the foodies! Dinner packages were easy to choose from. Caipirinha’s were delicious!!! Wait staff were patient, efficient and made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you Tropeiro’s for an unforgettable night!!! ❤️
